I started it once but didnt get past the first chapter. But i really want to give it a chance. I found it in GoodWill recently so I feel this was meant to be. This group will be the motivation I need. It’s the first time I have participated here. How is the pace set?
I read this when we did it earlier this year. It wasn't bad. A little slower overall, but I'm intrigued enough to want to read the next one.

The pace is however you want to read it. Unlike a buddy read, the goal is to finish it by the end of the month and you can post thoughts as you go or all at once. Make sure you mark spoilers so they don't show for someone who hasn't finished yet!

Finished The Cruel Prince last night.***SPOILERS***
I liked the book but I felt in the end it was anticlimactic. It wasn't a cliff hanger like ooh yes what happens next, more like i was mid chapter and then it stopped. Maybe it should have stopped when they crowned Carden instead of Oak or even when they gave her the spy nickname the queen. I don't know. But it was still good enough that I will try the next book. I am glad that the rest it's out cause maybe it will just feel like I never stopped reading.
this book was just not it for me. I think I read too much into the hype and had so much standards for it that I do not have any motivation to continue the story
Spent the weekend and read the series. I put it off for a while but I am glad I finally read it. It was good!
I had the book on my shelf for over a year and kept seeing amazing reviews. I remember reading Tithe back when I was 12, I think, and didn't realize it was the same author until recently! It seemed like something kept telling me to finally pick up The Cruel Prince, so I reorganized my TBR and bumped it to the top, and Im glad for it! I thought the book was a breath of fresh air - all the fairy tale vibes with a relatable FMC. The writing was great. The story was interesting and easy to digest, and the world building was vivid and understandable. Plus, it was on the shorter side, so my TBR didn't have to wait too long for me to finish it! I have the other 2 books in the series and am glad I can pick it up on a whim if I want to!
