is it bad that im writing a book and the dad of one family was murdered in the first chapter?

Nahh.... In one (or maybe two) of my wip's, my fmc's parents die in the first chapter or even the second one, sooo.....

Its best to start a story at the moment that things change. And 'blood on the floor' is very common.

i mean, duh! it needs to have a hook and murder is the best way

if it's necessary to the plot i think it's fine

i never plan but always have a plan if that makes sense lol

i started a book with a murder in the prologue


soooo yeah I think that's fine
