Yes it should. That is what happened, and it should be taught.
Okay. If religion shouldn't be forced or taught to everyone, then neither should evolution. Just saying this, not trying to offend.
And you don't know if that actually happened. Fact and opinion. In the nicest way possible I love you/plat
That is a really good point. Maybe we should consider what someone said in the religion in school discussion. Maybe we should have two different classes, or religious kids going to religious schools.

I know :( but neither religion nor non religion should be forced on kids. Evolution is taught in school rn because it doesn't contain religion, and applies to everyone, even if they don't believe in it.
how does it apply to everyone if they don't believe in it? if they refuse to acknowledge it (which yes I do but that's a different discussion) then they won't learn anything relevant to them. or anything they think is relevant to them.
Yes, but science has nothing to do with religion. Theory's generally apply to the world, not just one religion.

I mean, its pretty proven, but some people don't believe that. And thats okay.

If someone is human, then the theory of evolution applies to them! ^^
Humans found the evidence for evolution, and though I do believe us humans (specifically white supremacists) twist it to make humans seem hella superior, it has a LOT of evidence for its reality! I believe in God and evolution!

That's what I believe and when I was taught evolution I was angry that they taught this in schools. Like, if they believe in it GREAAAATTTTTT if they don't GREAAAAAAATTTTTTTT but I don't want to hear about it in my classroom that I have no choice but to sit through and not say a word
Really? You seem a lot better than me lol.

Thats where my weird povs come in lmao
a lot of people wont agree with me on this, but my dad does, so hurrah ig?
I believe that God placed humans, created them, in the "correct" place in evolution, at a time where the intelligence compatible thought processes of humans could be better put to use. I believe that us humans can see through the veil more than other creatures on this earth, and that because of that we have more prominent personalities and consciences!!
Like I said, a lot of people wont agree with me, but it helps me keep my love of God and Science alive <3
Skybird (Nickname Sky) wrote: "Really? You seem a lot better than me lol."nah, usually its just gibberish lmao
Idk. I don't believe in god. Evolution is just nature, not something some holy being created in my opinion. I don't know how we could avoid the problem of christians being upset about learning about evolution and non Christians learning about God.

Skybird (Nickname Sky) wrote: "Idk. I don't believe in god. Evolution is just nature, not something some holy being created in my opinion. I don't know how we could avoid the problem of christians being upset about learning abou..."well, most christains believe that god created all things, not just man. But I like to think of it like this.
Why did god give us wheat and not bread?
Why did god give us grapes and not wine?
Why give the creatures of the world the ability to reproduce when he could create them all himself?
Because he wants us and the world we live in to take part in divine creation.
He wants to share it.
Evolution makes sense to me in this sense.
We can create with the gifts from god, whos to say the earth and its inhabitants cant as well?
But then there would be a lot of unsolved questions about things. I just think that religion shouldn't be included in education unless it is a specific bible/religious school because evolution applies to all humans, religious and non-religious.

For those of you who believe in evolution, trying to get you to understand the situation..... like if I said God may or may not exist but still taught about Him in class, He is ALSO backed by evidence that some people believe and others don't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ How would YOU feel? I don't think you'd like that, would you? I try to get others to see my pov a lot of the time as you can tell
please tell me if you see anything offensive in anything I say to y'all cuz I feel like what I said was kind of harsh and mean

To me, there's really no right answer. There is almost no way to teach both subjects or neither at all and still have kids learn. If we put God between science, then where would we get in school? No where. Because God and science very frequently contain very different concepts, so its either one or the other, or two different schools.

Hi! Just gonna add my thoughts. So, I think that evolution should be taught in schools because there is a ton of evidence supporting it (we can discuss that evidence on a different topic). If you don't want to learn about evolution, you can go to a religious school where that's what is taught. Just my opinion, idk, I'm going to continue reading y'all's arguments

We did discuss that quite a lot, but we came to the conclusion that it would seperated society a lot. And I don't want to be away from my potential besties because of religion.

We don't need ANY more of that. Look what white and black schools did: absolutely nothing.

Exactly. I think that maybe we should have more religion taught in school, just so we could see other people's views on it. However, I still think things like evolution should be taught just because.

I think it should be a choice! Like if you want to go to a religious school, you can! but if not, you don't have to! ALSO, making sure religious schools teach about racial and personal diversity in toe world just like normal schools is important. Last time I talked to someone from a christain school, they legit didn't know what a gay person was. they were 23
