Ginger | 618 comments Terry and I will be doing a buddy read for Prodigal Son, (Orphan X #6) starting around December 22nd/23rd.
All are welcome to join if you’re reading the series and up to this book. Please use spoilers for discussion.

Terry | 484 comments When are you thinking you will start, Ginger?

I can start anytime this week. What works best for you?
I’ve got lots of family activities in the next few days BUT I’m not working. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂🤣

Terry | 484 comments I’m thinking I could start tomorrow possibly. We host on Christmas so lots of cleaning to do. Probably won’t make a lot of progress until Thursday.

I’m in the same boat. Don’t have much time to read in the next few days. Family time has taken over. Hahaha
Let’s just start on Thursday then if that works? I’m good with that.

Sounds good to me. Hope you have a great Christmas too, Ginger! And go Longhorns (I know that’s on New Years, but it doesn’t hurt to get excited early 😁)

Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!

Terry | 484 comments I got started today and read up to ch8. (view spoiler)

Ginger | 618 comments I got started yesterday and super happy to get into this one. The other two books that I’m reading are just “okay” and this one is already making me excited to read.
I got up to the beginning of Chapter 9. I totally agree. I wasn’t expecting Evan (view spoiler)

Thanks Char! These have all been so good. We’re catching up to the author way too quick.

I get it now Char! I love this book series and couldn’t be happier when I pick up a Orphan X book!

Char | 17 comments I don't even like action-type books or movies, but sit me down with an Orphan X book and I'm happy as hell. :)
(Joe Ledger from Jonathan Maberry as well.)

Ginger | 618 comments Char wrote: "…(Joe Ledger from Jonathan Maberry as well.)"

That’s another series that I’m eyeing! I’m going to get to it once I get caught up on current series that I’m reading. Excited to check it out!

Char | 17 comments It's so good, Ginger. So, so good.

Terry | 484 comments I’ve heard that about Joe Ledger as well. Definitely a series we need to get to.

Terry | 484 comments I’ve made it up to ch 25 (which is my favorite chapter title so far, lol). (view spoiler)

Ginger | 618 comments Terry wrote: "I’ve made it up to ch 25 (which is my favorite chapter title so far, lol). [spoilers removed]"

I'm up to chapter 20 so I should be able to get caught up later today.

We got in last night from Texas. It was raining but I didn't mind. That wind is brutal and I forget how bad it is at times! hahaha

J. Gowin | 2768 comments Am I misreading this thread's title as "Prodigal Som" instead of "Prodigal Son"?

Ginger | 618 comments J. wrote: "Am I misreading this thread's title as "Prodigal Som" instead of "Prodigal Son"?"

I guess so J. I misspelled son when I made this in December.

Ginger | 618 comments Terry wrote: "In ch44 [spoilers removed]"

I read both of your spoilers and agree! I think (view spoiler)

Ginger | 618 comments Got to the beginning of Chapter 61. (view spoiler)

Terry | 484 comments Ginger wrote: "Got to the beginning of Chapter 61. [spoilers removed]"

Oh definitely!!! I’ll likely finish this soon. It’s hard to put down and my emotions are all over the place too. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Terry | 484 comments I hope to finish tomorrow too. I really want to see what happens now!

Terry | 484 comments I did finish. Speechless at this point…

Ginger | 618 comments Terry wrote: "I did finish. Speechless at this point…"

Just around 4-5 chapters left and I’ll finish tonight. Can’t wait to see how this ends!! I’m chewing my nails to the quick on this one. 😂

You’re so right! (view spoiler)

Ginger | 618 comments Me too!! We'll have to schedule the next one soon. I've got a bit of a full plate in the next few weeks, but I don't see why we can't get to Dark Horse soon. I can also wait a bit and start it in February if that works too?

Yeah, the secondary characters in this feel exactly like how I feel about the characters in Charlie Parker! Speaking of, we need to get back to that too. Ahhhhh! hahaha

Ginger | 618 comments Too many books, not enough time!! :(

Terry | 484 comments No kidding! I’m good either way on Dark Horse, either in a few weeks or in February. I do have two buddy reads starting Feb 1, Foucault’s Pendulum and Guns of the Dawn that may take me a few weeks to get through, so I’ll need to work around those. I agree on CP, too. Maybe after dark horse, we squeeze that one in before moving onto book 8 in OX.

Sounds good! We can always wait until you’re done with your buddy reads and start Dark Horse. I have a couple of book group reads that I need to start in a couple of weeks for February. I should be done around the same time (maybe middle of February or sooner. Who knows?!)

We’ve only got books 7, 8 and 9 to read before we’re caught up with his current book coming out this year.

And yes to getting to CP afterwards!

Terry | 484 comments Sounds good - middleish of February for Dark Horse, The Furies right after that. It will be a shame to catch up on OX! I wasn’t prepared for how much I was going to enjoy this series.

I don’t think I was prepared as well. I love this series!
Sounds great on mid February and The Furies after. I’ll see if Tosh wants to join the CP buddy read too.

Excellent. I also let Kristen know we’ll be reading it end of Feb or beginning of March as she’s currently reading The Nameless Ones.

Awesome! We must have been thinking the same because I told her about it too.
