Ciara (ciaraxyerra) | 324 comments I don't know how many of you followed Bookish First. They did ARC raffles & whatnot, but my main interest was their monthly bingo boards. They started them in 2020 & released a new one every month with new challenges that always had some seasonal elements. It was fun.

It appears that they up & shut down yesterday. They sent out an email in the morning that basically said, "Thanks for being part of our journey, goodbye!" As of today, the website & all their social media is gone. They did say that anyone who has already won a giveaway will still receive their book, but apart from that...*poof*. Like they never existed.

Does anyone know what happened? More self-interestedly, does anyone have a recommendation for a similar wide-ranging monthly bingo challenge (not genre-specific or a 3x3 or whatever)? I can make my own, obviously, or recycle boards from years past (I saved them all), but I don't want to be tempted to give myself prompts that I know match books I'm planning to read, you know? I like to be surprised. Barring that, would anyone want to collaborate on something? We could put it in the additional challenges section.

I’m in a group that is making randomized lists of 12 prompts for 2025, from a pool of 300 we all suggested. You could join the challenge, or simply copy some of our lists to make your own grids. .We will continue to suggest prompts all year, and we can each request a new list when we finish one. So you can go as fast as you want. A few of us are in both ATY and PBT, so you will recognize some current and past prompt suggestions. Check it out!

I invite you to join the group if you like what you see. If you join the group and the challenge, you can submit prompt ideas to challenge us. Anita will generate a list just for you. We can’t start reading until Jan 1. I’d love to see you there!

Jillian | 2954 comments This group has a bingo challenges. I never do the bingo challenge so I have no idea if this is something you’d be interested in. The group’s theme is about traveling, and I’m not sure how often there are new bingo challenges.

Kimberlee | 2 comments I found this post (and group) when searching for what happened to Bookish First, a site I loved. I can't help you with monthly Bingo boards, but I try to complete two annual Bingo challenges on Storygraph:

Standard version: https://app.thestorygraph.com/reading...

Difficult version: https://app.thestorygraph.com/reading...

You could always do one of those cards each month, then search the "Challenges" section of the site for other Bingo boards once you've finished those....

Kimberlee | 2 comments This one offers 3 unique and new prompts each month, NOT announced in advance. The stated goal is to do one of the three each month, but you could do all 3 if you're looking for good prompt ideas on a monthly basis:

Karin | 773 comments If you like classics, Rafael's bingo is featured every year here, but many times you have to read something from the group's shelf (it's fairly extensive as they read many books per year in various categories and have been around for years.) https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Note that this group defines as classic book as at least 50 years old (40 for y/a)
