I'm about to start my reread of throne of glass but I want to annotate my books but have no clue how. I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me ways/topics to annotate in the books?

Ummmm, when I annotate I start by highlighting things by what they LITERALLY are like:Important to the storyline
FMC quotes I want to remember
MMC quotes to remember ( both are if the book has romance)
Tension (also for romance)
And things I found funny
From there, I just doodle little drawing and add small foot notes…

~Enemies-to-Lovers or Star-Crossed Tropes: Keep track of slow-burn romances or conflicts in relationships.~Key Moments: Annotate scenes that showcase significant relationship development.
~Chemistry Analysis: Jot down how the romance adds (or detracts) from the main story.
~Motivations: Annotate passages that explain why the antagonist acts as they do.
~Complexity: Highlight any moments that show moral ambiguity in their character.
~Final Confrontation: Mark scenes where the villain’s arc culminates. ~Declarations of Love: Highlight quotes that perfectly capture their feelings.
~Poetic Lines: Annotate lines that blend romance with the magic of the world.
~Devotion: Note promises or vows made between the characters. ~Intrigue and Betrayals: Annotate betrayals, conspiracies, or secret schemes that impact the storyline.
~Hierarchy: Highlight details about rulers, nobility, and other power structures.
~Dynamics: Highlight moments of bonding or conflict within families (biological or chosen).
~Finale Analysis: Annotate how satisfying (or unsatisfying) the ending feels.

Thank you!
I just started annotating my books like a week ago, i use sticky note-bookmarks! I mainly use them for stuff like: - important lore/world building that might be useful to remember or to look back on (like how different creatures are first described or something)
- memorable moments/scenes to remember
- well written quotes and other beautifully writing
- ✨spice✨
I underline the sentences I want to remember and put a sticky note next to it that corresponds with the meaning of its colour.
Besides that i just write random reactions in the book wherever i want.
For example i have written ‘fuck him everybody hates him’, ‘ugh he’s so annoying’ or ‘red flag/run away’ multiple times whenever my least favourite character said something I didn’t agree with😭
It could also be fun to buy sticky notes that match the cover of your book, I just got mine so i’ll be doing that too now🥰
I don't really have a system for my annotating I usually pick a highlighter that correlates with the colors of the book and just highlight the things that stick out to me
