SOS: Serious Overload of Series discussion

I got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas last year and a Tetris game. I’m a retro gamer girl 🤓 Anyway, while I was playing I thought the board would make a fun challenge idea. But, instead of coming up with requirements for it I thought it’d be fun to see what y’all came up with to challenge yourselves.

So, here’s the board and pieces. What would you assign to each piece of your challenge? Would you run it for a year, a month?

Some ideas to get your creative juices flowing …
- # of pages read in a sitting/day
- length of time spent reading
- different genres read
- alpha breakdown for author names, series or titles
- format read (paperback, kindle, audio, etc)
- mix & match

Okay... I've spent waaaaaay too long contemplating this challenge to not actually do it, lol 🤣

I tried finding a randomizer that actually shows the blocks but wasn't successful. So I figured I'd just number them instead and use a randomizer just for the numbers.

I was debating only using 7 out of the 9 depicted blocks (as there are 2 doubles), but for this round.. I'll go all out!

Yep, that way you'll always have the same amount of lines to fill (well... until 'Game Over') or you can just keep adding lines when you get to the top till the end of your game

When I planned out this challenge last year, I didn‘t think about a book fulfilling multiple criteria. I stuck with only one criteria and felt like I was cheating because I chose the criteria, and hence the pieces, according to what my tetris board needed (I actually drew on in my reding challenges journal).

For next year (2026), I‘m definitely going with your idea that a book can fulfill multiple criteria at the same time. Thanks for the inspo.
