hey i have this draft in the works that takes place in Victorian England. The problem? I have literally never been to England and I know virtually nothing about it 😭 so if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated
Reading about whatever time period I'm referencing from helps me when writing. Here are some books set then:Smoke by Dan Vyleta,
The Missing Marquess by Nancy Springer,
A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn,
Twelve Minutes To Midnight by Christopher Edge.
And you can always search specific questions to find what you're looking for. Hope this helps!
what do u guys do for locations? i'm in canada and idk i feel like for some reason it's silly to use a real city in canada but at the same time making it up is weird too. like i'm mostly MOSTLY familiar w edmonton but IDK if i wanna include that in my book LOL
I either use one that already exists and research whatever defining things of that area I want to include, or make one up.

OH also another question! for romances, what timeframe do u guys commonly use (90s, 2000s, 2010s)? obviously if it's historical ten it'd be older but i'm talking abt contemporary romances (romances after ww2)
