This is like my first comment ever on here? I guess. However, I feel so motivated to start the year by getting back on reading again I miss the feeling of not being able to sleep because I keep thinking about the events of the book, or not focus in the last 2 hours at work because I can't wait to get back home and continue reading! I hope this year I can feel all of these emotions again, my recent favourite book (which I experienced all of these stages with) is 1984, and I still can't get over it. I want to read more romance/fantasy books this year.

Hi everyone! My name's Jonnie and I'm from Aberdeen, Scotland. I only recently joining Goodreads and have spent some time updating and uploading all the mini reviews I have written for myself over the years - the benefits of keeping a 'diary' of what books I was reading and my thoughts on them! Feel free to have a look, if it's of interest at all.

I used to focus very much on reading and re-reading a small selection of books that I loved - such as the works of Terry Pratchett, Lord of the Rings or my collections of M.R. James and Edgar Allan Poe. But after my mum passed away last year, I inherited enough books to require an additional bookcase in my home study / library. I'm now widening my horizons and am happy to receive any new suggestions to add to the reading list! I'm looking forward to being part of this group, so feel free to add me as a friend, if you like!
