I have read it a couple of times, the last quite recently. I may try to listen if I get time. She is one of my favourite authors. It was one of Daphne du Maurier's inspirations for Rebecca.
I read it a year ago, so will try and join in for discussions. It is very different than An Enchanted April. I loved Vera!
I've just started the introduction on the audiobook. It will be my first of hers, looking forward to it. I have a couple of others of her's on my TBR shelves as well as a biography- The Countess from Kirribilli: The mysterious and free-spirited literary sensation who beguiled the world

Very good study of (view spoiler)
I think I did when I read it. I certainly didn't predict good things for her, and it was frightening how quickly the situation went bad for her. It felt like it had taken months, but as I remember it, we only get to see one week of her married life.

The most frightening thing about Wenmyss is that he learns nothing from his mistakes & his wives are the ones who pay.

I don't think he was able to learn. He had such kind of personality, he needed therapy, or at least a good intervention or conversation to start seeing what he was doing.
