Shawne Seignious | 50 comments Novels by James Harriot. the first is All Creatures Great and Small, then All Things Bright and Beautiful. There are several and they are beautiful books. He was a veterinarian and wrote beautifully about animals. older books..1950's or 1960's, I think.

Beverley | 8 comments Thanks for the recs! Beartown is a great pick! I read it a while ago. And I'm scared of The silence of the Lambs. I'm not a horror girl AT ALL.

I also thought of Agatha Christie's Five Little Pigs. Now's a great time for someone who's been wanting to read that to have a go at it.

Thanks so much for the Dear Mrs. Bird recommendation! I just finished reading it and what a lovely brave hilarious book it was. 5 stars!
