I can take it down if you think it's too much...

IDK let's see what other people think...
hmm. The teachings of the Bible are still relevant because Christians use that as a guideline for how they should act and how they should lead others to Christ. I don't think it's considered relevant for people who don't use the Bible daily. They have no need for it and they might not even care that it exists.

Ofc! I am open to hearing other people's opinions on this though. This might get interesting

I agree with the claim.
When will the Bible ever not be relevant to Christians (the world's biggest religion)? It may not be relevant to people who are non-believers but in general yes.
Great question. I'm not a Christian, and I personally think that the Bible shouldn't be used to direct people in how to act because it was written a long time ago (a few thousand years ago, right?) and society is much different now. Just my personal thoughts though

Well, some things from that time have changed, but Christians still use the Bible daily. The Bible is much larger than just telling about society and it's problems. The Bible tells Christians how they should live their lives and that's why it's relevant. It also tells Christians what they should or should not do when they have problems and things like that. There's a whole section at the back of my Bible that's like "What does the Bible say about-?"
I do agree that some things have changed, but that's why I think it's still relevant.
And this is just my opinion, as a Christian, on the matter. I'm probably not explaining it in a way that makes sense lol
Oh ok, could you give me some examples of what Christians do according to the Bible? Just so I have a better understanding. Thanks for joining this debate!

Ofc!!
Sure! Thx!

Agreed

Sai :) wrote: "This might be the wrong topic to post this, but sometimes some people take the teachings of the bible as too relevant. like, all the politicians that use the bible as arguments against trans protec..."yeah i agree with sai, especially because people tend to follow some but not others. like there are plenty of people who ignore the one where it tells you not to eat meat (you must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.) but hide behind the bible to hate other people for literally just wanting to exist.
(if someone already said this I'm sorry for repeating it but that's my bit)

The old testament isn't really relevant. The lessons in the Bible are though. Such as, "love your neighbor and pray for your enemy" or "don't be anxious because God is with you"
Ella⁸¹ wrote: "The old testament isn't really relevant. The lessons in the Bible are though. Belle⁸¹ (oscar piastri's version) wrote: "The old testament isn't really relevant. The lessons in the Bible are though. Such as, "love your neighbor and pray for your enemy" or "don't be anxious because God is with you""But the jews follow the old testament
I'm not sure if i will change the topic name, but this seems interesting.
Since religion is personal and not objective, lets try answering the question of whether the teachings of the Bible (including or not including the old testament) are relevant to lawmaking and society socially.
What about other religions?
relevant but not necessary. the majority of religious texts preach good deeds, none of them are telling you it's okay to commit a massacre because you hate yourself or something, but i don't need a book to tell me to be a good person, and neither should anyone else. we can use them as guidance but at the end of the day, the final decision to be a good person, or follow the law, etc, is on society, on our mentors and ourselves.
