Sharon | 7 comments Reposting because I didn't like how I formatted originally!

I'm planning to read 12 books this year—one book a month—and I’m so excited to get started! Even though we’re nearly halfway through January, I’ve decided not to cheat by counting anything I’m finishing from last year (The Fellowship of the Ring won't make the cut!). Below, I’ve shared my 'roadmap' for the year, along with some backup options in case my plans change. :)

January: The Scarlet Letter
February: One Dark Window
March: The Two Towers
April: Phantasma
May: The Return of the King
June: The Odyssey
July: The Idiot
August: The Hobbit, or There and Back Again
September: Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind
October: The Picture of Dorian Gray
November: Virgil's Aenid: The Original Text with a Literal Interlinear Translation
December: A Little Life

ALTERNATES:
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
Why Fish Don’t Exist A Story of Loss, Love, and the Hidden Order of Life by Lulu Miller
Circe by Madeline Miller
Lapvona by Ottessa Moshfegh
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

Sharon | 7 comments Not too huge of an update, just announcing I finally finished The Fellowship of the Ring, so I can actually begin my 2025 challenge!

I'm amazed by anyone who can read more than one book simultaneously, I have no idea how you guys do it!!

Sharon | 7 comments I've started my book for January:
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
This is a classic I’ve had on my to-read list for a while! I’ve noticed it has surprisingly low ratings, but I’m holding off on reading reviews until I form my own opinion. So far, I’m enjoying it, but I’m still early in the story—there’s plenty of room for things to evolve.

Sharon | 7 comments Okaaay falling a little bit behind...school has been crazy busy, but I've finally gotten around to finishing book #3: One Dark Window. As long as by the end of the year I hit at least 12 books, I'll be happy haha

I've already started my next book - Two Twisted Crowns

Sharon | 7 comments Sooooo I fell behind haha! Not a huge shocker but a little disappointing I won't lie. I may have to amend my goal to just enjoying as many books I can for the remainder of the year without making it feel like a task :/

Next book - The Odyssey

JennH | 1214 comments To be fair, Sharon, I think you picked quite a list for the year. The lightest book you have planned is The Hobbit. I do hope that you, at least, have been enjoying the books you have been reading.
