Great looking list, Cecilia! I have quite a few of these on my own tbr.

The Night Circus is just magical. Moreso, the actual circus atmosphere and not so much, the characters. I needed more background on the 2 magicians trying to outdo each other.

Good luck and happy reading! 📚📚

Lea (leaspot) | 4175 comments What a great list, Cecilia! I've read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Midnight Library, The Nightingale, It Ends with Us, Little Fires Everywhere, The Night Circus and A Little Life. My favorite was probably The Nightingale, and my least favorite was A Little Life. The book is incredibly well written, but so depressing. It wasn't for me, but it is a favorite with so many people. I hope you enjoy your list! Happy reading!

Good to know! I will watch out for that. I had it on my list last year too, hopefully I'll get to it this time!

Thanks so much Lea! I just finished Evelyn Hugo and really enjoyed it. I have heard that about a Little Life. There was a whole tik tok craze for a minute with people sobbing, lol. I don't mind depressing so much if it's good.

Cecilia | 141 comments Mid year check in! Been a pretty good reading year so far. I'm making my way through the list and may or may not get to all of them. I also read for a book club and sometimes get squirrley and want to read something spontaneous or new, but I'm further on the list than I was last year. Reading The Nightingale right now and so far it is excellent.

Some other ones I've read this year: I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman (bleak), Chaos by Tom O'Neill (impressive), Fierce Intimacy by Terry Real (inspiring), Believe by Jeremy Egner (disappointing), The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren (fun), Good Talk by Mira Jacob (thought-provoking).

Happy reading friends!

Cecilia | 141 comments Yes humming along!

Cecilia | 141 comments Almost the end of the year. I read more than I usually do. I think part of the problem is that I'm in a book club so I never know what they're going to read, I'm a slow reader, and sometimes spontaneously change my mind about what I'm going to read. So 9 books isn't too bad. I'm also reading the In Between right now which is also great.

9 is excellent, Cecilia. You did better than me! Also; you've read more than most of the country, so, there's that! LOL

Its between Wolf Hall and A Closed and Common Orbit. Both got 4.5 Stars and I enjoyed every inch of the books, really.

What was yours, so far? It looks like Midnight Library was a 5 star for you.

Cecilia | 141 comments Nice! Have you read the Red Rising Series?
Ok I will try that. Are you doing it from a computer or phone?

Only the first 2 books. They are pretty good, but many complaints from readers, stating that there is no resolution; or so it seems. I may keep reading to see if that will bug me or not.

Cecilia | 141 comments Ah got it. Ok maybe that’s why I’m having problems. I feel like with that series they resolve things and then bring more problems, but I feel like they resolve enough for me to not get frustrated. I’ve read 4 of them. All pretty good in my opinion. Favorite all time sci fi book?
