Sorry for the red herring! I pitched this book. Lots of buzz on this title on YA sites. When I looked it up on several sites - including my trusted YA librarian - it was listed as YA. I think maybe the second book may have pushed the needle on the first novel. I found the first novel to be in line with The Bone Season as far as adult situations. The second book is more of an adult read.
