Play Book Tag discussion

Lara (dropped the "u" from Laura to sound more sophisticated) was discovered by a talent agent while performing the role of Emily in 'Our Town' and quickly sent to Los Angeles to work in movies. At the time, Lara was a college student but gladly dropped out to pursue a career she had never actually considered. Eventually she would end up in Tom Lake, a lovely spot in Michicgan, which performed plays in summer stock. It seemed Lara would never play any role except Emily as her she was once again on another set for 'Our Town'. Here she met the man she would fall in love with, the handsome and charismatic Peter Duke. He would eventually become a huge Hollywood star while Lara found her happiness on a cherry farm with a loving husband and, eventually, 3 beautiful daughters.

During the summer of 2020 while the world was still reeling from the devastation of the Covid virus, the 3 adult girls returned to the farm and begged their mother for the backstory of her relationship with Duke. Lara gave an honest accounting of her taste of fame and her romance with a true acting legend. Her daughters were mesmerized with the story and near amazement at what their mother had been like when she was their age.

As many others have mentioned, the audio was so well done by Meryl Streep. I enjoyed the story very much especially the closeness of the family on their cherry farm.
