Vem sköt älgen? Fredrik Pacius' Kung Karls jakt är vår första inhemska opera och den första fär handlingen är förlagd till Finland. Det svenskspråkiga librettot är skrivet av Zacharias Topelius och urpremiären i november 1852 blev något av en nationell milstolpe i vårt lands musikhistoria.
