I wish they did for me, too. I'll be putting Fawkes on hold at my library soon, so I should be able to read it in a week of two!
@Ellie—yeah, I have read it too, but I might read it again just for the sake of reading it with F&F. It’ll also help me figure out if my feelings on it are still the same.
Yeah, I was thinking about that too, but I’m a little afraid if I read it again I won’t like it as much as I did when I first read it. 🥲 so I don’t knowww

Ellie, I'm always afraid of that, too. Like, I'm planning on rereading my favorite book that I read last year sometime this year, and I'm always like, wondering if I'll end up being a bit disappointed with it this next go around because it might not live up to how I thought of it the first time, so.... But I highly doubt I'll like it less, but yeah....
Yess! It’s so sad! 😭 My book taste and how I see things has changed a lot since a few years ago, and I’m more picky. 🥲 I still want to reread books, but there are certain ones I’m kinda scared to. lol
I just read one recently that I really liked when I first read it, and now reading it (3rd time) I didn’t enjoy it as much and I found stuff I didn’t like. 😭 Which made me really sad…but, oh well! I guess improving your taste in books of good, though! It’s like you’ve matured in your reading or something lol

I totally agree, Ellie! It is worth it to become a more discerning reader. Makes it worthwhile to reread books we didn’t like the first time around, too, so we can see with fresh eyes what we might have missed out on.
I have a few old faithfuls I never get tired of, but yeah I always notice something new with any reread and it's always going to change how I view or feel about the story... Always a risk!😂
I got Fawkes from my library a week or two ago since it's been on my TBR for a while and it was one of the only books my library had from my Christian TBR. Perfect timing that I got it for the F&F BOTM!

I'm excited to read this one too!
I love the Out of Time series by Nadine Brandes but have never gotten around to reading anything else by her! I can't wait to try out Fawkes this month :)
That’s great, Lizzy! I picked mine up at the library, but haven’t had time to start my reread of it yet. While I didn’t love this book, I do love the characters Brandes creates. They feel so real and relatable.
I think my library has all nadine books, and a lot of Christian books as long as they have some presence on social media/in the christian community. So far, I am loving it and I think the idea is super original... something we dont see a lot of now. It is quite refreshing.
I'm enjoying it so far, but I have a question:If Igniters are hunting Keepers (to some degree), then all they would have to do to find a Keeper would be to ask him/her to use more than one color power to prove that they were an Igniter... Right?
Is this a plothole or something that hasn't been explained yet? I'm halfway through chapter 11 so if I just haven't gotten to the explanation to it I could understand, but I've been wondering for a few chapters now.
Just started, it arrived today! Perfect timing because I had just finished another February read and needed a new book to start. Excited to dive into this one and also hear what everyone else thinks.
Glad you liked it, Lizzy! I am having a hard time finding time to read lately, so I may have to listen to the audiobook. Hoopla to the rescue!
My e-copy self returned and someone else has a hold on it so I don't think l'll be able to finish it this month 😶 I got almost halfway through, its just so hard for me to read on my phone. Iook forward to discussing it as much as I can!!
Oh, that’s a bummer, Angela! It wasn’t one that could be read on a Kindle, I guess? That would have solved both of those problems.🤷♀️
I’m really enjoying it so far! I’m at about 70%. Hoping to finish this weekend. I absolutely ADORE Emma. I could see my daughter being a lot like her when she gets older. She’s bi-racial, too, and sweet as sugar but SO stubborn. 😂 Anyways, as of right now this one is a 5 ⭐️ read for me. We will see where it’s at when I finish 🫶
I was able to pick up my copy of Fawkes from my library yesterday, so I'll probably start it either tonight or tomorrow!

Are you excited about this one??
Are you enjoying the story? Finding it well-paced or slow?
What do you think of the characters?
Are you confused about anything?
Enjoy guys! 😊
