Sam contacts Darren Tabor to write and release an official statement about Skip’s death. Should she have considered Lilia or Terry first or was it the right decision to put distance between Skip’s service and her White House role? Has Darren earned this trust?

She wanted her father to get the recognition he deserved from his community first instead of a national article. She has learned to trust Darren enough to give her father the respect he deserves in any article he writes.

I never gave it any thought. Darren has played straight with Sam and she trusted that he knew Skip well enough to do a good job.

Sam respects Darren's honesty and he has earned her trust. He did right by Sam and Skip with the article.
