Not feeling well. I've had a fever since yesterday and can't read anything due to pounding headaches. How about you?

message 5: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter Oh No! I hope you are feeling a bit better this morning! Make sure you are resting and drinking plenty.

Ya. Thank you.

message 7: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter hope you feeling better Urek.

I've just finished a book called Stupid Cupid (2 star rating - pacing was off) and about to finish Fall of Ruin and Wrath either tonight or tomorrow

message 8: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter Just finished Fall of Ruin and Wrath... anyone else finished that yet??

I recently started reading the book and I'm currently on chapter 3. I'm worried that I won't be able to finish it this month. Lately, I've been experiencing a strange emotional flatness, which is making it hard for me to enjoy any books, movies, or even social activities. I'm just taking it slow and waiting for this slump to pass.

message 10: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter that's all you can do, book/life slumps are the worst!
take it slow.
I know I have to read something easy and short for me to get back in to it... I entered one a while a go but I think it's cuz I was reading back to back

message 11: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter Just finished Godkiller - was okay, 3 stars... interesting plot.

message 12: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter finished Solo Levelling! that's 13 books 🤣 epic manga!

Did you enjoy the manhwa? I remember reading it around 2019 at the persistent urging of my younger brother. At that time, I hadn’t explored much in the fantasy genre, and it hit me like a drug. I recall eagerly waiting on Wednesdays for each new chapter to be dropped. If you’re interested, I’d be happy to recommend other manhwas!

message 14: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter oh please do! I do love them... that was honestly an epic journey! I couldn't stop reading it.
don't think i could have waited every Wednesday for a chapter lol
did u read the epilogues?

Yes, I have. Currently, I've heard they are serialising the story of his son, which I don't think I would read.
For recommendation (now I'm struggling, cause there are some which are just for wish-fulfilment, power fantasy, op protagonist junk foods, which I read just to get high, but I don't think you would like them.)

For a fantastic world and rich story lore
1. Tower of God
2. Omniscient reader's viewpoint

Just have a fun time
1. Eleceed

Great artwork
1. Northern Blade
2. Superhuman era
3. Unholy blood
4. Her Summon

Good stories
1. Black Haze
2. Epics of Gilgamesh
3. Lord of the Mysteries
4. Nobless
5. Worthless Regration
6. Un0rdinary

Give them a shot when you like and tell me which one you liked and which you didn't

message 16: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter I will have a look in to them :) love a good long list to read.
I had a look at Tower of God, I'm was not a fan of the art work in a first few chapters, but can see it gets better... sometimes they look way to creepy! Ive never heard of any of them on the list, so have added them to my variety of different sites I read on :)

I am curious to see which ones u think I wont like that aren't in your list LOL read some pretty twisted ones in my day =)

Emi Porter Have you managed to beat your strange emotional flatness? and starting to enjoy things again?

I have managed to overcome my strange emotional flatness and am starting to enjoy things again. Everything has returned to normal. I've gotten back into reading "Jane Eyre" and I absolutely love it, especially its classic style and Charlotte Bronte's unique writing. The characters and plot are outstanding. I'm also enjoying the other two books I'm reading.

I've decided to drop "Fall of Ruin and Wrath" because I realized I'm not a fan of smut content in books, as well as the excessive naval gazing of the main character. I encountered the same issue with "Phantasm."

Currently, I'm finishing the Godfather trilogy as well.

How are your days going?

I agree, the art style in Tower of God at the beginning can feel strange or even creepy at times. The early chapters were drawn by the author himself, but he has since improved his craft and started working with assistants. When I look back at the older art style, I actually appreciate it; it gives the story a unique identity.

Sorry 😂 I shouldn't have underestimated you. Let me rephrase my words, I think they might bore you.

message 20: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter I am currently making my way through Tower of God, its not bad... the art does get better, you are right!

:L :L :L don't worry! Im still intrigued though!

Just finished The Half King - enjoyed that sooo much! Pacing was amazing!

message 21: by Urek (new)

Urek Mazino finished reading Jane Eyre.

message 22: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter ooo how did you find it?

message 24: by Madelyn (new)

Madelyn Hello! I just got sorted to this group. I just finished Heir the other day and it was really good. I’m so excited to start Fearless when I get home :)

message 25: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter welcome :)

oooo that's the second one to powerless isn't it?
would you recommend it?

message 26: by Madelyn (new)

Madelyn Fearless is the third one and it just came out today. The series so far is one of my favorites and I would recommend it. There’s like no spice but the romance and world making is so good. I hope Kai and Pae get a happy ending but it isn’t looking good so far :( I just started it a bit ago so I’m only 30 pages in. I feel like no matter how it ends it will be good tho.

message 27: by Allison J (new)

Allison J | 2 comments I need to dive back into powerless. I read half the book and then put it on the shelf. I don’t know I just couldn’t get into it but I have heard so many amazing incredible things about the series so I need to give it a second try.

Anyone looking for lots of spice great fantasy humor, and incredible character development? I definitely recommend zodiac academy. Yes I know it’s long. Yes I know the books are incredibly long. Sometimes it’s cheesy but man do I love that series and love those characters.

I finished from blood and ash in two days. I love the book so much. I am currently halfway through a kingdom of flesh and fire and I’m really loving this series. allies to lovers to enemies to lovers? I’m not really sure where this is going but I’m here for the ride.

Also recommend book of azrael… HOLY!!! it’s nice to read about shadow daddies, and the MMC being the morally Grey character… This series is the exact opposite. He is the tortured soul and she is the shadow mommy and morally Grey FMC I can’t get enough of it.

message 28: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter see, I got to book 4 of zodiac and had to stop reading lol couldn't pick book 5 up although my mum has now brought all on audible so may just need to listen to them 🤣

my husband brought powerless for birthday but haven't felt the urge to pick it up yet so sat on shelf but people are raving about it.

thinking about downloading sunrise on the reaping? anyone read that yet?

message 29: by Madelyn (new)

Madelyn Just finished Fearless and OMG it was a roller coaster! I’m now going back to Good Girl, Bad Blood :)

message 30: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter oooowhats good girl, bad bloodA

message 31: by Madelyn (new)

Madelyn That’s the second one but the first one is about a high schooler doing a senior project. She picks to do it on a case that happened in her town I think 5 years earlier. There wasn’t ever a trial because the guys they thought did it killed himself. So she digs into it to try to prove everyone wrong. Def recommend

message 32: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter oooo no-one for crime book, but plot seems intriguing... will be adding to TBR list

message 33: by Emi (new)

Emi Porter anyone reading book of the month?
