Starfish is a book written by Lisa Fipps. It is a fictional story of how a twelve year old girl named Ellie overcomes bullies who make fun of her because of her weight. Ellie gets bullied in school by a lot of people, who calls her "whale" because of how she looks and weighs. Even her family isn't nice to her, except her dad. Ellie's mom constantly puts Ellie in diets and wants to 'fix' her and tells her that if she doesn't lose weight herself, she will take her to do bariatric surgery. Read this book to see how Ellie deals with the fat-shaming world around her and overcomes it with the help of her friends.
