SpookyStorySeeker | 3 comments Hello, all! Very excited to be a part of the group. I recently started a GoodReads account and am delving into my 2025 Reading Challenge. I'd love to connect and get y'all's recommendations!

Currently, I'm on book number FIVE (The Fisherman by John Langan) - having read All The Fiends of Hell (Neville), No One Gets Out Alive (Neville), Small Town Horror (Malfi), and Bone White (Malfi).

I'm big into supernatural horror and creature features that explore harsh, rural, or isolated environments/landscapes - a bit of a spooky wanderlust for the outdoors.

Any recommendations? Would love to connect!

Hi Spooky! I have moved this post under our General folder as it is really considered an introduction. The horror folder is used for books that pertain to horror and/or movies or anything related to horror.

Welcome to the group Nightmares and Dreamscapes! :)

For recommendations I will give you a small list of books to check out:

Creature Feature stories:
Anything by Hunter Shea - favorites by him are:
Creature, The Montauk Monster by Shea, Hunter (2014) Mass Market Paperback, Jurassic Florida, Swamp Monster Massacre, Loch Ness Revenge

Another creature author (mostly sea creatures) is author, Michael R. Cole - favorites by him are:
Scar, Megalodon: Bloodbath

All the authors you mentioned are great - though I haven't read Langan yet. Another great book by Adam Neville is this one: Cunning Folk
