Y'ALL! THIS BOOK IS INSANE! True to the first one, there is TWIST, after TWIST, and this is INSANE!!!!

*slight spoiler below so proceed with caution*

There have to be good reasons for Yi Zhi'z betrayals, but maybe I'm too optimistic and men are just men. AHHH!!!!

Also I loved the first book "Iron Widow" so I'm very excited that the second one has finally come into my Libby app :) grinding to finish cause I Have like 6 hours left and the book returns in 8 🤣

WOW WHAT A BOOK! My head kind of hurts from all the whiplash of betrayals, surprises, twists, and turns. Honestly, I'm not sure why I'm so surprised by everything that happened.

*SOME SPOILERS TO COME SO PROCEED WITH CAUTION*

I guess the actual events were surprising but it is so in Xiran Jay Zhao's writing style to do so. I mean, Iron Widow had be gagged multiple times so once she ventured into space and added more lover boys I shouldn't have been as surprised haha.

Had to tear through this book like Zetian tore through the heart of her emperor since Libby (the book app) wanted it back soon but it was so worth it and honestly I wouldn't have put it down anyways. I'm so conflicted over who is good, bad, why things were done, and what the truth is of the situation. I guess that's part of the complexities of relationships whether interpersonal or systemic.

So worth the wait and can't wait already until she releases them again. Probs gonna have to go buy some hard covers of these books :)

Also so conflicted cause I wanna talk about it but I don't wanna spoil for people 😭
