annapi | 5511 comments Bryson is a master at translating technical language into layman's terms, and he does so with a sense of humor. Although it took me 6 days to finish these 450 pages, I think that's pretty good considering I went through surgery and hospitalization in the middle of it. My circumstances made the subject matter rather more interesting. He takes the reader through the human body and the history of medicine with many fascinating anecdotes and sober truths. Recommended!

This has been on my TBR for ages but I've never managed to find a copy round here. Might have to order it now you have reminded me it exists.

Hope you feel better soon.

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11190 comments Sounds good. I hope your recovery is going well! I had minor surgery 2 weeks ago (just outpatient) and it increased my interest in reading about the body too. My follow up appt is today.
