Possession discussion

Reading 'Possession' for my public library's book club meeting in 2 weeks. It's been a (wonderfully) slow reading experience because I'm learning many of the concepts and references as I go along, often cross-referencing allusions with a mythology book and Wikipedia. I'm trying to avoid direct explanations of the text, but I want to find supplemental readings/materials to help me better understand the discussions about religion, mythology, science, and truth that Byatt presents. Any tips? Perhaps an annotated edition?
