J.J. Mainor | 2440 comments If you download your ebooks to your computer to back them up, Amazon is doing away with this feature. On February 26, you will only be allowed to download directly to your kindle device. You won't be able to save a backup copy in case Amazon decides to delete a book or replace a book with an "edited" version. If you want to back up your kindle purchases, you need to download them now.

Papaphilly | 5048 comments I am a Luddite, so I only read paper books. Yet at the same time, this is the very reason I will never go to electronic books. I am the first to acknowledge the benefits, but I also have noticed that this was going to happen at some point.

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 8089 comments F this. I'm a luddite also, Phil, and happy to be so. They can't take a real book away from you. This will happen with downloaded music at some point, don't you think?

Charissa Wilkinson (lilmizflashythang) | 430 comments I prefer hard copies of everything that I have. However, I do have a nook, and it's mostly filled with freebie books.
