Do Book Awards Matter?

I have found that book awards are very competitive as so many are entered. I have also realized most are honest in their reviews. I won three awards with When Jesus Calls. The gold award with Literary Global Book Awards was definitely an honor and their review was written exactly where my heart is for my books. I have entered the sequel as well to a few that I trust and am excited to see if my books win. God called me to write When Jesus Calls, When Jesus Leads and I am currently writing the third book for the series. He has promised to be my publicist so I do what I can and am trying to leave the rest up to Him. I say trying because occasionally, I try to do it on my own. Patience isn’t my strength. 🙏❤️His timing isn’t our timing. I have to continue to remind myself of this.
I think they can be helpful just like you showed us James. But they can be helpful also in motivating a writer to continue on their writing because if they do win an award or are nominated, then that gives them encouragement to see that what they’re working towards for God is a blessing and help to others. I think so anyway.

In my opinion, many book awards are a prestige game. However, book awards could be a smart marketing move. Here is why:
Increased Visibility: Awards can amplify your reach, helping your book get noticed by readers, industry professionals, and media outlets.
Credibility and Recognition: Winning or being nominated lends legitimacy to your work, signaling to readers that your book is a quality read.
Sales Boost:Awards can lead to a spike in sales, especially when paired with promotional efforts.
Networking Opportunities: Many award events allow for connections with fellow authors, publishers, and potential partners.
