Maya Fisher | 15 comments Reborn In Shadows: From The Ashes Hey there! I saw your post and wanted to recommend my debut novel, Reborn In Shadows! 🌙✨

I’m a trans author, and my book features Miriam Ryder, a sharp-witted, chain-smoking transgender woman and below-the-knee amputee who’s navigating a fresh start, small-town tensions, and the dangers of her past catching up to her.

While the book is a thriller at its core, it deeply explores Miriam’s trans experience in an authentic, unfiltered way—her struggles, resilience, and the small victories that come with claiming her space in a world that often tries to erase people like her. It’s about survival, self-acceptance, and finding love in unexpected places, all wrapped in a suspenseful, emotionally charged story.

If you’re looking for a thrilling, character-driven book with a trans protagonist at its heart, I’d love for you to check it out! Feel free to DM me if you’d like a digital ARC. 😊📖🏳️‍⚧️

Matt | 6 comments Although it has a holiday theme, last summer I read Second Chances in New Port Stephen.
It’s kind of a rom com but a cute story and the main character is trans.

Kestrel B. (kestrelb) | 12 comments Here are my favorites from the last year, all authors are Trans or Non-Binary. I tend to read more femme to masc storylines bc of my own path, so these suggestions all fall in that category for the mc, but some have masc-femme side characters.

Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi for a bit more psychological story, featuring Nigerian main character, lots of trauma work in this one but it is stunning.
The Thirty Names of Night by Zeyn Joukhadarfor current day Syrian American experiences with a parallel historical fiction storyline, some focus on art and ornithology.
Rules for Ghosting by Shelly Jay Shore for Jewish experiences with touches of romance and paranormal antics- mostly lighthearted but some deep moments.
Màgòdiz by Gabe Calderónfor Indigenous views on gender in a post-apocalyptic, scifi setting. Can be a little overwhelming due to the regular use of Anishinaabemowin but def worth the read.
Hammajang Luck by Makana Yamamoto for Cyberpunk heist rooted in Indigenous Hawaiian culture and language. Super fun, fully queer cast!
H.E. Edgmon Ouroboros duology is great for high drama modern fantasy. Great Indigenous rep here too.

Joseph | 47 comments "Felix Ever After" by Kacen Callender is one that I, unfortunately, didn't like but I know that many people do like this one.

Personally, I really enjoyed "The Art of Being Normal" by Lisa Williamsson, which includes both MtF and FtM characters.

Another one is "I am J" by Cris Beam.

I don't remember much of these books, since I read it as a young teenager, but they've got trans rep.
