A few questions to get us started:

1. What did you think of the world?
2. What did you think of the characters?
3. What worked or didn't for you?
4. Overall thoughts?

Author Q&A can be found here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

HeyT | 510 comments I enjoyed the introspective vibes of this Even though I am highly allergic I am here for the bees! I have to say I would absolutely be horrified if somehow google became corporial.

Richard (thinkingbluecountingtwo) | 447 comments It took me quite a while to get into this. The slow bucolic lifestyle and fairytale magic finally won me over and I ended up enjoying learning Katya’s story and joining her and Stefan trying to save his Dad.
The internet ghosts were an interesting idea, but I couldn’t help thinking that with the internet being so vastly huge if it became corporeal then there wouldn’t be room on our small planet to accommodate it all. But I do prefer the picture here of the occasional ghost cat, race horse, news program or song drifting around looking for something to anchor itself to and feel real.

Julie (valerette) | 2 comments I enjoyed the hedge witch decentralized world vibes but this book was a miss for me. Everything was too fragmented; the way the ghosts and the boy communicated and the memories and motivations of the main character.

My finishing thoughts:
This is a book with a very unique combination of topics. I liked how they are woven together and I like the story that is told. I didn't mind the slowness at all, but I understand how it isn't for everybody. A lot of the elements and topics resonated with me, so I'm very much the target group here. :D
I will definitely read this again in the future.

I'm nearing the end. Around chapter 15 either the book finally picked up its pace or I settled into the pacing, but the slowness of it stopped bothering me. I'm curious how it will end because there are a lot of possibilities still.

DivaDiane SM | 3700 comments I finally finished the book. It took a long time to read it, but that was actually a good thing. I started out listening to it, and while the narration was very good, I felt like I was missing a lot between the lines. It demanded a careful reading from me. I’m glad I went and bought the hardcover through a local bookshop.

I am in Ines’ camp of definitely being in the target audience. I have always been a lover of slow pacing, beautiful prose and subtext. This book delivered that.

Katerina was an interesting character. I’m glad she found some peace and accepts and appreciates the people in her life. The rest of the cast of characters, particularly the non-human ones were wonderful; Orlando the cat, the bees, the magic tunic full of full pockets.
