Hi. I read this in 2017 and only remember that I really liked it. With the schedule I've imposed on myself, I won't be able to reread it. Hope you all enjoy!

Finished this one last week and really enjoyed it. It does a great job at exploring how medicine/doctor's offices are not globally homogenous and they fit the resources/needs of a community, and how the idea of intuitional versus functional expertise plays into this. This idea was contrasted well with the reconciling of Marion (who goes abroad to medical school) and Shiva (who stays in the village and functionally learns medicine from their mother). The thread of the international struggle for women's rights (especially reproductive rights) runs through the story as well, which I really appreciated, as did the idea of balance between traditional/lived vs, Western education knowledge. Was quite impressed.
