The book can be difficult to read sometimes especially for parents or those living in troubling times, but it has a lyrical writing style. The story is heart warming, heart wrenching, and poignant shaping the everlasting love between parent and child.

I read it a few months ago and it's a painful and beautiful story. Important.

It may be difficult to read this alongside Kate Chopin's The Awakening. I recommend giving yourself a high octane or humor-filled break between the two.

I had a hard time getting through this book because it is so sad.
