This begins a group discussion of our Modern book selection, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, nominated by spoko.
Here you can comment, without spoilers, on any aspects of the book, either before, during, or after reading it.

Kelly V | 7 comments The book can be difficult to read sometimes especially for parents or those living in troubling times, but it has a lyrical writing style. The story is heart warming, heart wrenching, and poignant shaping the everlasting love between parent and child.

Nike | 249 comments I read it a few months ago and it's a painful and beautiful story. Important.

Taz | 156 comments It may be difficult to read this alongside Kate Chopin's The Awakening. I recommend giving yourself a high octane or humor-filled break between the two.

Valerie Book Valkyrie | 58 comments Taz's comment, above, is sooooo true! Great suggestion, thank you!
