Welcome to the first day of the quarterly! Your team's spreadsheet is now linked in the first message of this chat. This SS is for your use only to keep track of the weekly bonus challenges and/or gems/HOARD books if you want to. Please feel free to edit it how you wish!

Welcome to the challenge, players! You begin your dragon-y quest by exploring a local abandoned carnival ground. But night is falling...and where did all these strange figures come from...and why are they headed towards a bathhouse?

Your first weekly dragon is: Haku! The tasks to unlock his special ability are below:

1. MC is protective (your interpretation)
2. River on cover
3. Read a book that has been translated into English
4. MC is cursed or enchanted

Special Ability: Haku sacrifices himself to keep Chihiro safe from Yubaba! You may use this special ability to block 1 action taken against you by another team.

(This special ability may be banked for use on a later week if you wish.)

This bonus challenge is optional and all four books must be posted before midnight, July 6th. Happy reading!

I just finished a book that might work for MC is cursed or enchanted. I asked in Q&A just to verify.

If it doesn't work for that, one of the foreign versions will work for H, O or D to start spelling that out.

I have books that will work for 1 (Dungeon Crawler Carl), 3 (Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop) and 4 (Woven by Gold) that I am in the middle of and should finish in the next few days.

That's perfect, Lys, cause mine won't work for MC is cursed, so I'll post for spelling out HOARD.

I'm trying to decide which one is harder: the H, O, or D. Anyone else reading for these letters?

Kassandra posted Haku 1, and I am posting Haku 3 right now.
It looks like she is in the middle of 4 also, so I'll save mine for a different slot.

I have something I can read for 2, but I don't know if anyone has plans for it.

Lys, I don't have anything for 2 right now, so if no one speaks up and you can read for that, then we'll have the bonus completed for the week.

The rest of us can work on the spell-out. I think we only need A & R to complete the first word. We can also work on gems.

Either will work. I think those are easy enough to find.

I added a tab to our spreadsheet to track the Hoard and Gems. I also added everything that is already on the review tab so we can keep track a little better.

Hello team! I'm back from a long weekend off, apologies for not being present. I will get back into things now

Players, you have unleashed a great shadow upon the world. It is your most honourable and vital task to hunt it to the ends of the ocean and put a stop to its evils. But you may need some help and wisdom along the way....



This week's dragon is: Yevaud! The tasks to unlock his special ability are below:

1. Features a sea voyage
2. Text includes a conlang (constructed/fiction language like Elvish or Klingon)
3. MC’s name starts with G, E, or D
4. Shadow on cover

Special Ability: Yevaud grants your team one completed HOARD.

This bonus challenge is optional and all four books must be read by midnight, July 12th.

Hey team! I realized that I made a silly mistake and the official schedule was originally written with weeks ending on Tuesday. (Idk how I did this, lol). New dragons always visit on Mondays, so I have posted your new dragon below. But because I originally said this week would end today, you are welcome to post for Haku until midnight tonight in your time zone.

Any plans for the next dragon?

I'm currently reading An Echo in the Bone, and that will work for a sea voyage. They travel from the states to scotland in 1777 and they are out to sea for a LONG time lol

I'm also going to read Golden Son and the MC's name is Darrow

If anyone is reading anything for either of these, let me know.

I am not in the middle of anything that works for these prompts (except 3), but when I finish something, I will look for 2 or 4.

If you finish 3 before me, go ahead and post. I haven't started that book yet :)

I think Sunday night.

I think I can do Watership Down for conlang. So that should be all 4 as long as Amanda can finish shadow and Jamie can finish hers.
I also will have one finished for 3 by the end of the week, just in case Jamie doesn't get through her second one.

Kassandra posted on the spreadsheet that she's reading a sea voyage book, so I can post for the shadow one Amanda. I finished mine yesterday but forgot to update all my challenges lol

Yes! Gem tasks are all repeatable to the end of the challenge

I'm reading A Court of Mist and Fury right now. I'm guessing it would probably work for #3 but can anyone confirm, that has read it?

I could make an argument for it. It's when Feyre goes to the Weaver. Have you gotten to that part yet?
