I love fantasy, and I love romance with fantasy and vice versa. I can't say I've delved into the newer books that are specifically romantasy very much. I love T. Kingfisher and Paladin's Grace was awesome. I also enjoyed A Heart of Blood and Ashes and Long Live Evil (which is probably more Isekai Fantasy. I also love Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews.

Can you suggest some romantasy books that are heavy on the plotting, worldbuilding and characterization, and not so much focused on the spice and steam? I like some steam, but sometimes it gets in the way of the story, IMO.

What are your favorites in general?

Chocolatesoup | 44 comments The Bridge Kingdom (The Bridge Kingdom, #1) by Danielle L. Jensen is the first of the series. Heavy with political intrigue, lots of battle and action scenes (like Ilona Andrews) and while romance and love are important plot points, the steam is fairly minimal.
