That's so frustrating! Is it a comfort that the security on our book talk is so tight?

I have made a start, and am intrigued by the very distinct voices for each of the characters. Anita's chapters are in the first person, and the narration reads very differently for each of the other characters. Very difficult to do well, but I think Xóchitl González is pulling it off.

Hope you are enjoying the book Ginny. The remark you made about Gonzalez "pulling it off," is exactly how I felt throughout my first reading of the novel. I will like hearing how you thin she does.

Sam | 447 comments Reviews: My favorite review of the book is from NPR and I will also link their interview with Gonzalez. The NYT and WP also reviewed but I am trying to avoid paywalled reviews.

Video talk on the novel by author. This promotional appearance by the author at the Politics and Prose Bookstore is more for those wanting to view the less formal side of Xochitl Gonzalez.

Ginny (burmisgal) | 42 comments Thanks for the resources. Quite the story. I am very much engaged with the novel, although it has taken a surprising twist.

Here's one of Ana's artworks. Very relevant to the twist in Part III.
