An author in our group reached out and asked me about Kindle Unlimited (KU). Do you think KU is beneficial to authors?

I always list all my books on Kindle Unlimited. Authors can benefit from KU through increased visibility, potential for higher engagement, and a streamlined publishing process, especially for those with series or longer books, as KU readers tend to binge-read. It's particularly beneficial for newer or lesser-known authors trying to break into the market. There are at least 4 million active subscribers to KU. So, I think KU is very beneficial.

What do you think?

Caitlin Nikolai (caitlinnikolaiauthor) | 18 comments All of my ebooks are in KU. I want people to be able to "try out" my books if they want.

I found most of my favorite authors by free books (not KU, but free promos). I love their books and end up buying paperbacks.

I know a lot of authors make a lot of money on KU. I do not. It's about visibility to me.
