* No sabotages on Week 10.
* Only 1 sabotage will be effective for a receiving team each week. (In other words, if Teams 2, 3 and 7 all send a sabotage to Team 5, only 1 will be in effect. The first sabotage submitted for a specific team in the sabotaging team's weekly Completion Post will be accepted. You will lose your sabotage even if it doesn't affect a team.)
Flat Tire - this sabotage will limit 1 player on a team to read for 2 tasks

Rain Delay - this sabotage prevents 1 player from beginning to read on Wednesday; that player cannot begin reading until Friday

USED High Octane Fuel - this boost allows 2 players to read for a 4th task

USED Guest Driver - this boost adds a player to your team for 1 week (in other words, a player can read a 2nd book for up to 3 more tasks)

First of all, pick a name for your team, group, or squad.
Second, decide who will keep track of the team's claimed and completed tasks. It can be on a spreadsheet or here in a post.
Third, decide who will make the team's Completion Posts. (It can be one person, or you can take turns. The team's Completion Post can be posted as soon as everyone has reported. The latest the team Completion Post can be posted is Tuesday morning.)
Fourth, decide what strategy or method your team will use to read for the tasks.
Last of all, check your engine and tires, gather your crew (check out library books and charge your devices), purchase fuel (snacks and soda), and get ready for a great race!

Hi everyone! I'm looking forward to this one :)I like Bookish inTENtions - that's clever! But I'm happy to go along with any team names.
As far as strategies I'm also flexible.
I knew someone would put a spreadsheet together!!! If everyone is okay with using it for keeping track? I'm sure we'll need to make a copy for our team, but they posted it in the Q&A thread.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
I've sent friend requests to you Apoorv and Maritza.
Hey everyone, just checking in :) looking at the team I think I have been in teams with most of you before. I like TENacious Readers and Bookish inTENtions for team names.
Thanks for tagging the spreadsheet Trio, always finding it easier tracking my reads on a SS rather than just by a post.
Also happy to help with tracking things. I have done various challenges and been in very relaxed teams where the last person to complete their read, posts the weeks completion or been in others more regimented with a captain who makes completions. I am easy with either :) Looking forwards to playing with you guys.
Hi, yes I see some familiar names here. Go with majority on team name but I like Tenacious Readers.Planning to read - Tempted by Hades: A Romantasy Greek Gods and Shifters Story
Fits the follow categories -
Numbers - book 1 in series
T in title
MPG Fantasy
Setting Fantasy World
Word - carve, instrument, dread
for strategies... does it matter which thing we try to finish first if they all need to be finished?
Alrighty, TENacious Readers it is!And here is our tracking spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
I would be happy to maintain it as we go, if we want to make completion posts here.
Trio wrote: "for strategies... does it matter which thing we try to finish first if they all need to be finished?"Not particularly, technically 34 books should do the trick.
But the scavenger words might be the tricky one, so it might be better to focus on them primarily (or specifically look out for them within our reads).

Added this to the spreadsheet.
Maritza, when you come across it, please add in the sentence/location for carve from the book. Thanks! :)
Think I am going to read this week 1. Hits a few of the tasks so will see what everyone else has before I post the completion
Numbers: 3

Scavenger:
Dread: Yet now the coming moon made both dread - Loc 33%
Field: nearly half a football field wasn’t forthcoming - Loc 15%
Foundation: even the great foundation stones erupted into the sky - Loc 24%

Hint: And with that teasing hint of a sight came an unwelcome realization - Loc 23%

I will probably post my completions straight to the spreadsheet as I don't always have access to the GR web version, if I am working away when the completion post is due. But can always get on googledrive.
I guess the hardest task will be the scavenger so we should try to concentrate on those first and mark one off with each read where possible. If that works for everyone else.
Maritza, it is there in the drop-down in columns G, J, and M. Feel free to note things down here and I would be happy to add them to the spreadsheet, if it's easier.
Also, we can use the same kind of task with one book. For example, if one book gives us more scavenger hunt words, we can use all the 3 spots to cover scavenger hunt words only. That way, we can wrap up the tricky words and then go to the easier number or alphabet ones if we choose to.

I need permission to use this SS? I clicked the request permission box - let me know if I'm clicking the wrong link? thanks :)

Sound good!
I have finished my book for this week and have updated the spreadsheet.
Claimed - Scavenger:
Field: nearly half a football field wasn’t forthcoming - Loc 15%
Foundation: even the great foundation stones erupted into the sky - Loc 24%
Grease: “I think Tierney meant now can we grease this Lykae?” - Loc 26%
I need to let you know that I have adjusted a few of the Tags tasks. Star can now be plural if you'd like to use it that way. i.e., 5 star(s), 4 star(s), 3 star(s)
I was thinking as far as strategy: maybe we should pick a location in addition to SH items? since we can probably only do one location per book...
Agreed, Trio.Having said that, we can also use multiple locations for a book. There was a question asked about it to which the answer was "sure"
E.g. if I read a book set in Italy, can I use it for both "mainland Europe" and "a Mediterranean country"

hi Maritza - not sure if you're familiar with posting from the SS, but if you copy the cell P and paste it here in this thread... then you just have to remove the quotation marks (" ____ ") from either end of the posting [there will be a quotation mark at the start of what you paste in your message, and a quotation mark at the end].once you delete the " " and post the message it will look like mine above so you don't have to re-type everything.
then go back to the SS and check the box in column Q and your line will turn lavender.
Please ignore me if you already know all this!
