Nick gets the call that the President is dead and literally has minutes to get ready to take the oath of office. As he and Sam prepare to do that, they have to make decisions on the fly that will have a lasting impact. How do you think they did? Would you have been able to get your brain in gear like that in the middle of the night?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments Getting in gear after a wonderful Thanksgiving and a wedding must have been hard to do. It was for Sam who couldn't think beyond how this event was going to impact her. Not much thought as to what it meant for Nick. They did a great job pulling themselves together and doing what they had to do.

I don't know how I would handle a call that completely changed my life. I guess none of us do until we have to face something like that.

I’m a military brat so we were used to having to make quick moves on the fly. My mother was masterful at it and I paid attention. Still, this would have knocked me on my butt.

It’s understandable that Sam would worry about her career and that would have been natural. But then she should have pivoted and have it be all about Nick. She did somewhat but not quite enough. But how they got it together so fast was admirable, especially with three kids and Elijah.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments Having to meet a crisis and respond is maturity. Sam did what she needed to do in the moment. I do give her credit for that.
