Well, of course, we will give you plenty of opportunities to get bonus points!
If you read a book that fits the following below, you will get this number of bonus points:
- Book that has 10 words in the title (any edition works) → 10 pts
- Book that was published in October (any year) → 10 pts
- Book that has a '1' and '0' in the page count → 10 pts
- Book that was published on the 10th day of ANY month → 20 pts
- Book that was published in a year that ends in a ‘0’ ('00, '10, '20) → 20 pts
- Book that is #10 in a series → 20 pts
- Book that has the letters O, C , T, O, B, E, R in title (in any order) → 30 pts
- Book that has the letters O, C , T, O, B, E, R in series title (in any order) → 30 pts
- Book that has 'anniversary' in text (please include page number, or %, and the quote) → 30 pts
- Book that has a publication date with all 10's in it (e.g. October 10th, 2010) → 40 pts
For example, if you read the following book, The Long Way Home, you could post like this:
Review: add link
Buddy: add link if applicable
Pages: most rated (ex: this one would be 373 pages)
- Book that was published in October (any year) → 10 pts (using this edition - La via di casa)
- Book that was published on the 10th day of ANY month → 20 pts (using this edition - The Long Way Home)
- Book that was published in a year that ends in a 0 ('00, '10, '20) → 20 pts (using this edition - Den långa vägen hem)
- Book that is #10 in a series → 20 pts
- Book that has 'anniversary' in text (please include page number, or %, and the quote) → 30 pts (Pg. 29, “but on the first anniversary of his leaving”)
and you would receive 100 bonus points for that book.
The scores would also look like this:

51 - 99 pages → 0.5 pts
100 - 149 pages → 1 pt
150 - 249 pages → 2 pts
250 - 349 pages → 3 pts
350 - 449 pages → 4 pts
450 - 549 pages → 5 pts
550 - 649 pages → 6 pts
650 - 749 pages → 7 pts
750 - 849 pages → 8 pts
850 - 949 pages → 9 pts
950+ pages → 10 pts
Buddy Reads will DOUBLE your points.
BOTM will TRIPLE your points.
