I wanted to open up a conversation around my new book, Flatlining DEI: How Political Agendas Threaten Patient Equity. This project was born out of deep concern for the growing influence of political polarization on healthcare delivery — particularly in how it impacts equity, inclusion, and access for vulnerable patient populations.
In the book, I share real-world examples and insights from my career in healthcare leadership, highlighting how unconscious bias, systemic inequality, and shifting legislative trends are quietly reshaping care outcomes. More importantly, I outline a call to action — for leaders at every level to stand up, speak out, and embed equity into the DNA of healthcare systems.
I’d love to hear your thoughts:
Have you seen DEI efforts challenged or undermined in your organization? What does real leadership in this space look like to you? How do we protect and prioritize patient equity in today’s political climate? Let’s dig into it.
