Weird fiction poems explore themes central to the genre, including the supernatural, the passage of time, and the futility of human pursuits in an indifferent cosmos. Examples can be most often found in periodicals like Weird Tales, in some anthologies, and on websites that feature weird poetry. Great practitioners that come immediately to my mind are Edgar Allan Poe (ancient), Clark Ashton Smith (classic), and both Angela Liu and Ann K. Schwader (modern).

As we should know by now, that does not necessarily make the work weird fiction, or even technically what we would call weird poetry by genre. However, much of the poetry found here would classify as genre weird poetry. Check it out for yourself!
