'Monkey' is a euphemism for addiction, be it drugs, sex, or alcohol. It's in other songs like Shock the Monkey by Peter Gabriel (a song about shock therapy) and Tonight, Tonight, Tonight by Phil Collins.
Honestly though, I probably should have thought about having that song on the same list as The Ostrich. I promise I'm okay guys!
