Hey guys,

Apologies for being late!

How did everyone find Epictetus's discourses and selected writings?
I always thought it was one of the best introductions to Greek Philosophy in general. Plus, a lot of what is written can still be applied in our current day-to-day lives, as cliche as that may sound!

Awelone | 4 comments I have a little delay, only halfway through. So far I like it, the short chapters are great. For me, I'd prefer a version that is more explained in modern terms and language (I'm sure it exists) so it's easier to understand.

What version are you reading, if you do not mind me asking?

Awelone | 4 comments I think it's the same as PewDiePie's, at least the cover looks the same. English is my second language so that makes it a little harder for me, couldn't find version in my language

Ah, I see, yeah it's definitely a bit harder if that's the case, you've made it quite the challenge for yourself, then! When I last read it, I thought it was actually quite nicely put even for the modern reader, definitely a lot easier to digest than the works of Nietzsche or Schopenhauer, haha. Looking forward to those books next. Those are slow reads but definitely worth it! I think that's going to be in October, from the looks of things
