Vicki Willis | 585 comments I know this is a common hourly post for the Read a Thon, but I have been doing this for a long time and love getting to know "friends" here.
Tell me about your pets. Do they love to cuddle as you read for the day? Or are they begging for more attention while you are trying to get some reading done?

Right now I have one dog, Bailey, who is a Belgium Malinois/Doberman mix. (Think drug dog at the airport type.) She is very intense and needs a lot of physical activity. Luckily I love audio books so when I walk her I get to listen to a book. She also loves chasing her frisbee and we could throw it until our arm falls off and she would not even be breathing hard from running.
She also likes a cozy pair of pajamas on a cold night (looking so cute) and does like to sit on the couch with me while I read in the evenings.

I noticed nobody posted any photos of their pets this Readathon or their TBR bookstacks . Hmmm. . .

Ann (Noumena12) (noumena12) | 32 comments I have one cat, Maggie, who loves to sit in the chair with me while I read. I lost Priscilla in January of this year. Here is a photo...Maggie is on the right and Priscilla is on the left.

Or not...I apparently failed at adding the image

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2506 comments Bailey sounds adorable!

We have one cat, Snickers, and one dog, Ezri. We lost Snickers' sister, Sassy, a few weeks ago. It was unexpected. She was 14. Her sister has adjusted but she was definitely looking for Sassy for a couple days. 😭 Snickers is not a cuddly cat. She will sit near you but rarely on you. lol

Ezri is an English Shepherd and is 8. She just lost her brother, Hunter, the week after we lost Sassy! My brother owned him. My mom used to breed English Shepherds so we all have one. She's starting to feel her age. We went on a walk on an old logging trail nearby yesterday and she was definitely sore today!

We share ownership with my mother-in-law of a Maltese bichon called Copito. He is mostly with her and every two weeks with us for some days.
He is 5 years old. He is always asking for attention. He lived over 6 months at a shelter because his previous owner died. We found him online and brought him from Spain. He has been with us for 2 years.

Awww... sorry to hear that Elyse! It is so hard to lose pets, even though we know they don't live long. It is always a sad shock.

I think rescue make the best pets. How lucky that he found another good home after his owner died.

It is but honestly, we've had to euthanize 2 dogs and to have to make that decision is way worse than the pet passing peacefully. Sassy was in one of her favorite spots on the back of the couch and died in her sleep. I wouldn't want it any other way. Best way possible.

Lynnette | 337 comments Two dogs. Finn a super cuddly mutt who is a sleep whisperer so I try to keep him at bay. And Amanda my Husky mix who wants to be petted constantly. They’ve been going back and forth between me and my husband all day. They’re in heaven with both parents home a neither doing any pressing.

Vicki Willis | 585 comments Thanks everyone for answering!
I am making it a goal to learn how to put a photo on here. I have seen other people do it so it can't be too hard!
Happy reading and see you at the next one!
