Hi guys!! welcome to the explanation of book monopoly
So firstly ALL BOOKS must be atleast 100 pages
audiobooks are accepted (calculate like: minute x 150 = words divided by 250 to get pages
example: 4hr 15m = 255 minutes x 150 = 38,250 words ÷ 250 = 153pgs
So each turn will take 1-2 days max 3-4 days, where u roll the dice which is linked at the board, captains will roll the dice and move the piece on the board or any trusted member can do it like input the recorded info needed because there is a lot to be recorded which trusted team members can help with.
each team starts with $1500 and earns a salary when you pass a purple spaces.
To buy a property:
If you land on a property that isn't bought and you wish to, go to the game board, it is listed along with the prompts, choose any one prompt (select a book that reasons with the prompt, u must explain how it fits the prompt or with ss or proof) to buy the property or pay money from ur balance you can choose between the 2.
ur captains will send a message in the turns group in the format given on what the plan is, ur plan would be buy the property, if u dont want to then ur turn ends there and the next team rolls
note: when its 30$/pgs u can choose between reading a book of minimum that pages or paying but when its 30$ + pgs that means u have to do both...
when you land on a team's property
you must pay the rent firstly(money) and read a book that fits one of the prompts for the property, and the book must fit at least the no of pages, its shown on the board
to buy houses:
you need to:
1. have purchased all the properties in the colour set (all 3 same colour properties)
2. you must buy the houses equally which means if i buy a house for a property in the set, i cant buy a second house for that same property unless the other properties in that colour set have one house.
also note that the title deed tab on the spreadsheet contains the housing costs which is on the monopoly board
Earning of money
Books used for Salary: $0.10 per page
this is to be deposited in the team section in the game board where you deposit up to 10 books. you calculate the money earned per book as 0.10 x pages= amount in dollars.
you collect this salary when you pass a purple space
Books used for Library: Deposit or Fine calculated at $0.05 per page
read any book of ur choice that meets the standard rules
standard rules
1. book must be at least 100+ pages
2. audio books are allowed calculated by the way shown in doc and above
3. fanfiction will only be accepted if it can be found on gr and pass minimum 100 pages
4. any book will be accepted in any language as long as it is at least 100 pages
also note that the 5th land on this space will have a fine instead of profit.
Books used for Chance/Ballot Box: Deposit or Debit calculated at $0.30 per page
spin the wheel and then on the drop thing on where the task is, if the task that u get from spinning the wheel is green, its a profit, if its red its a loss.
gain means u win the money but if loss , u loose money we'll explain it further when we get to it
this above is for all 3 chance, community chest or ballot box where you spin the wheel, get ur prompt which u find a book that matches it and you'll know whether its a profit or loss depending on the colour of the drop box in the google sheet
please be honest, im sure y'all will be but caps/co caps have to send ss of wheel spin on google chats or on any website that can share the pics/ss just to make sure.

okay so when your team lands on any tax space, you must read any book from the list given (its on the board) as well as pay the amount
JAIL
okay so you have to spell out jail, basically read 4 books, many members can do this

Your team's Net Worth is based on the current Bank Account Balance and the sum of all Properties and Houses Owned. Properties and Houses are valued at their purchase price. (for example: Mediterranean Avenue with 2 Houses holds a value of $60+$50+$50=$160)
If you dont have enough money in your account:
1) mortgage any owned properties but you CANNOT COLLECT RENT on the mortgaged property
to un-mortgage the property: check the title deed card on the game board and see how much the amount is plus interest. (for example: The mortgage value of Baltic Ave is $30, so you would need to repay $33 to the bank)
2) if u have houses, you can sell AT HALF PRICE TO BANK all the buildings but equally which means if i have 2 houses on property 1 and 2 houses on property 2 (in a colour set) i sell one house of property one but i cannot sell another of property one unless i have sold a house of property

Book Monopoly is just the readers’ version of the popular board game! If you don’t know what monopoly is, it is basically a game where the players roll a dice to reach different destinations on the board. Once you reach a destination, the player (if they have the money) can “buy” it so that when other players land on the same place, they have to pay rent to the player who bought it!
THE GAME
╰ Each team starts with $1500 and earns a salary when you pass a purple space

❥ you don’t HAVE to buy it, it’s just a choice. Decideif it is profitable, but if you do buy it whichever team lands on your property has to pay rent to you AND read a book that fits the prompts!
❥ Each property has a set of book prompts associated with it (this is where the book-related part comes in!)
lets say u land on a property the prompts are-
1. read a book w a red cover
2. read a book of the genre thrillers
3. read a book that has the word "the" in the title like eg. the coworker or the fear
❥ You have to pay some amount to buy a place or read using one of these prompts.
2. If it was already bought by someone else…
❥ Pay rent! (scroll down for exact details)
❥ Read a book that fits the prompts for the property <3
3. to buy houses
(if you havent played monopoly before you should probably skip this for now and we’ll explain it to you after we reach that stage)
❥ Just like the normal monopoly rules, if you buy an equal number of properties in a particular color, you can upgrade them one by one
(for example, I bought marvin gardens, ventnor avenue and atlantic avenue, I can now buy a house in any one. Once I buy 1 house in each, I can buy my second house in any one. Prices increase for the rent payers as you upgrade)
Earning of money (basically a reading challenge)
Any books that you read with or without the prompts (ur general monthly reads)
