please know that all reads r supposed to be logged on the team tracking and selected reads chosen by ur captain/co cap will be logged on the salary for books..

hey this is imp regarding the debates


firstly please vote on the poll for the dates here


secondly so im gonna give an explanation on how the debates are gonna work, we want to make this as interactive and fun so feel free to be as competitive snarky as well as entertaining so dont hold back:) drop comebacks, call out the weak points. theres no hard feelings here we're all here to have fun but please dont go too far that we get a new gr drama bc we do not want that💀

1. opening statements
both teams will start by posting their opening statements. this is your chance to lay out your main argument and basically make your case. make it sound funny, use examples , etc

2. open discussion period (12–24 hours)
once both opening statements are posted, we’ll open up a discussion window that lasts somewhere between 12 and 24 hours (we’ll confirm the exact timing in advance). so during this period, everyone can jump in, ask questions, challenge points, or drop snarky comment.s it’s fair game this is where the fun happens, so go at it

3. rebuttals
after the discussion window closes, both teams will post a formal rebuttal. this is your chance to respond to everything that came up during the discussion, clarify misunderstandings, and push back against any weak points you saw in the other team’s argument.


4. closing statements
finally, each team will post a closing statement. this is where you bring it all together remind everyone of your strongest points, respond to anything major that came up late in the debate, and leave your final impression. it doesn’t need to be long, but it should be clear and impactful so judges can make their decision

so P.I (team 4) is for separating art from the artist (in this case problematic authors) and I.H (team 4 ) is against this

both teams please prepare according to the format given above as well as members who r gonna be participating in the debate from each team to please comment onn the group chat stating u will be participating (if u are) so captains/co caps can make a list and send it to me/on mod group

another thing the team w the most people actively participating in the debate will win $60 as a prize

lastly please let us know in the monopoly chat whether u think other teams should also have an input in the voting front to decide the winner or any other ideas for this debate tysm:)

After weeks of rolling dice, hoarding bookish money, and watching chaos unfold, it’s time to officially close the chapter on our Book Monopoly game. Life’s gotten busy, activity has slowed, and while it’s bittersweet to end it here, the ride has definitely been fun while it lasted.
