I'm literally in chapter 1 so it's a little bit bold to make any statements but I feel like I'm really going to like Marshall's voice. Very quippy and funny. I like his mom too.
...I cannot imagine my parents keeping something like this from me. I'm now not sure I like his mom even if she is funny lol.
I think it makes it interesting that Greg reveals early on that he is a writer and aspires to be an actor. It makes me wonder how much of his stories of his extremely quirky family are 100% true and how much are him having a flair for the dramatic.Oh and Chapter 3....boys are so gross lol. I sincerely hope there was a lot of washing involved.
I started today. Agreed boys are pretty gross. I can’t believe the obsession. lolAnother later obsession, the fear of getting AIDS even when he was a virgin.
Funny and entertaining even with all the obstacles he had to deal with.
Yes he's a very good storyteller so I'm always finding it entertaining. Does seem like he probably uses humor to cope a little bit
I'm in the chapters where is dad is rapidly declining from the ALS and it's very sad. You can tell Marshall has tried to find the humor or clinically talk about most of it, but his dad was definitely his best friend.
I finished. This was one crazy family. I was amazed that his mother just kept on going after all those years of fighting cancer. She was a strong woman. I'm not sure why they didn't tell Greg about his diagnosis. He probably would have dealt with it differently and that might not have been good. Hard to say but the whole family showed a lot of grit and determination.
