Eric Mesa (djotaku) | 672 comments So far this book doesn't have as many (and as overt) pop culture references as Valerie Valdes' Chilling Effect series, but something like a couple hours into the audiobook there's been 2 references to The Princess Bride. (One very overt, one kind of subtle). (view spoiler)

Created the thread for folks to point out any others they've found. I recommend the reference in the clear and the actual scene for the book in spoilers as I did here.

Bonus: Did it bother you or did you find it funny? (or some other reaction) Given Mickey's hobby and the fact that it's set in our future, it made me chuckle and didn't bother me.

message 2: by Seth (new) - added it

Seth | 793 comments I wasn't picking up many until about half-way through Mickey (view spoiler) "It's not a tumor." I assume this was entirely intentional because the narrator reads the doctor with an Austrian accent.

What's that a reference to?
