Read a book that starts with the Letter Q (exclude A, An, or The) - OR- Author's FIRST/LAST name begins with the Letter Q.
Bonus Point: Title & Author's FIRST/ LAST name both have the Letter Q.

1.6 May: the 5th month of the year
Choose one of the following:

a. Read a book published in May (any year)
b. Read a book with 5 in it's page count
c. Read a book published in a year with a 5 (e.g. 2005, 2015, 2025 etc....)

1.7 (Diana's Task) Taking Flight
In May 20, 1927, Charles Lindbergh took off on the first solo transatlantic flight.
Read a book whose Main Character is a pilot -OR- Author's FIRST/LAST name starts with letter in AIRPLANE

1.8 (Marilyn's Task) Cinco de Mayo
In San Antonio, we celebrate Cinco de Mayo, a day to Mexican culture and heritage.
Read a book by an Hispanic author or one with a "5" in the publication date or in the number of page.
* Bonus Point - read a book that meets both criteria, author plus number 5.

Read a book that starts with a letter in MAY (exclude A, An, or The).

1.10 (Marilyn's Task) Birthstone for May
The traditional birthstone for May is an Emerald.
Read a book whose Author's FIRST and LAST name initials appear in the word, Emerald.

Read a book with the name of a flower in title OR in Author's FIRST/LAST name OR in Main Character's FIRST/LAST name
2. It's Beginning to Feel like Summer
Read a book with the word SUMMER in the title.

2.3 (Amber's Task) My Niece is Graduating
Read 2 Books

My Niece is graduating from high school this month. I can't believe how the years have flown. I am flying across the country to California to be there for her big day at the end of the month.
1. Read a book that is related in some way to a school. Can be set in a school, have a student or teacher as a character, someone in the book attends an event held at a school etc. Tell us how your book relates.
2. Read a book set in California.

2.4 (Amber's Task) Fun May Holidays
1. May 4th - Star Wars Day (May the Fourth Be With You)
Read a book set in space, published in May or 4th in series.
2. May 18th - Visit Relatives Day
Read a book where the MC has a relative in the story. Tell us their relation.


Three Point Tasks

3.1 (Linda C's Task) Kentucky Derby (May 3)
Read 3 Books
1. It's all about the HORSE.
Read a book with a horse on the cover (show cover) or with the word horse(s) in the text (provide location and quote)
2. How about that HAT!
Read a book with someone wearing a HAT on the cover (show cover) or has the letters in HAT in the title (in any order, but not in subtitle).
3. It's just a RACE
Read a book that includes a race (your interpretation but tell us what kind you're using) - must be a race as a competition and not as a human grouping.

3.2 (Linda C's Task) Three Days for a Laugh
Read 3 Books

1. National Dance Like A Chicken Day - May 14
Read a book with a character who is a dancer (does not have to be the MC) or has a chicken on the cover (show cover ) or in the text (provide location and quote) chicken can be living or food.
2. National Hairstylist Mental Health Awareness Day - May 27
Read a book with a character who is a Hairstylist (does not have to be the MC) or that has a Mental Health MPG or that references some type of mental activity ( your interpretation, but tell us what kind you're using) - e.g. meditation, solving puzzles, migraines.
3. End of the Middle Ages Day - May 29
Read a book set in the Middle Ages or where someone is having a mid-life crisis ( your interpretation, but tell us how it is shown) or has an MC that is passed middle age (let's say above 60).
