I really want to read something with good worldbuilding—preferably fantasy with some romance too! And if there are any, maybe a series? I really loved the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings! I didn’t really enjoy reading books like Powerless. ACOTAR was alright but sometimes it felt like there was no plot. Thank you for your guidance!

"Romantasy" aka fantasy smut seems to be big these days. In that genre you'll find Fourth Wing, first of a five book series (three are out.) Lots of death in that one.
If you like a medieval society with dragons and an SF riff, try Dragonriders of Pern. Heavy world building, solid adventure, books alternate between female and male MCs. Plenty of romance, some tragedy. Series long since complete.

If you’re looking for a mix of classic fantasy vibes with a good dose of romance, I’d definitely recommend The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. The worldbuilding is solid, the characters are super interesting, and while it’s not quite Tolkien-level epic, it has its own unique charm that really pulls you in. The series blends fairy tale retellings with futuristic elements, so it feels fresh but still hits that fantasy sweet spot. Totally worth checking out if you want something different but still rich in story and romance!
I would recommend the Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sandorson. It has some romantic plotlines, but the main story is different from them. It also has some fantastic worldbuilding(In my personal opinion).
It's not Tolkien level, but a cool world and mythos building fantasy series is the Emily Wilde series by Heather Fawcett. It unfolds in an England of the 1910s in which faeries are a known and accepted part of life--even an studied branch of science. The fae are often darker as they are depicted in older stories, ranging from more of less benign to downright sinister. It isn't a dark book series though and there is some romance, but it is clean which I appreciate. It's also great if you're into academia aesthetics.

Hi - Please give my book a try. It's a new atmospheric thriller and it is a quick weekend read. The private pacific island in the story is its own unique world of bioluminescent wonder and another character in the book.
