I love the high seas/sailing ships/ocean adventure aesthetic, but I've never been into the romanticization of pirates, so I'd love to see more stories focusing on, like, merchant adventurers and such, rather than pirates or privateers. The only series I can really think of that fits into this niche is Micheline Ryckman's The Maiden Ship, but I'm sure there must be more. (It's fine if the story happens to include pirates, I just want the focus to be on main characters who are not.)
